There have been four competitive fixtures on August 13th in the 25-year period, taking place in 2002, 2005, 2011 and 2016.

In the opening home game of the 2002/03 season, Crewe Alexandra hosted Notts County. 2 goals from Danny Allsopp either side of a Mark Stallard effort gave the visitors a 3-goal win.

Leon Knight gave the hosts the lead 3 minutes before the break before goals from substitutes Mark Rivers and Michael Higdon looked to have won Crewe the game but for an 88th minute goal from Dean Hammond gave both teams a share of the points.

In 2011, Crewe hosted Gillingham at the Alexandra Stadium. First half goals from Chris Whelpdale and Danny Spiller gave Gillingham a 2-goal lead after 25 minutes with Shaun Miller getting Crewe`s consolation.
