There have been four competitive fixtures on August 10th in the 25-year period, taking place in 2002, 2004, 2010 and 2013.

In the opening game of the 2002/03 season, Crewe Alexandra travelled to Sixfields to take on Northampton Town. Neil Sorvel gave Crewe the lead on the half-hour mark before Marco Gabbiadini gave the hosts a point with a goal a couple of minutes from time.

2 years later saw Crewe travel to the Stadium of Light to play Sunderland. Carl Robinson gave the hosts the lead before Mark Rivers equalised a couple of minutes of the first half remaining. Marcus Stewart restored Sunderland`s lead mid-way through the second period before Stephen Elliott came off the bench to score in the 90th minute.

In 2010, Crewe hosted Derby County in the 1st Round of the League Cup with a Shaun Barker o.g. giving Crewe the win on the stroke of half-time.

The final game of this round-up saw us travel to MK Dons in the league in 2013 with Patrick Bamford getting the only goal of the game in the 20th minute.
