Crewe Alexandra On This Day – April 27th

In this column, we look at how Crewe Alexandra have done on this day in the previous 20 years.

2013 – Crewe 2-0 Walsall:

The first game of this round-up came 7 years ago with Walsall making the short journey up the M6 to the Alexandra Stadium. Luke Murphy opened the scoring 12 minutes from time with a penalty before Chuks Aneke scored 7 minutes later to extend the lead. This game was the first time that any team had fielded a full starting XI that had come through their youth system.

2019 – Crewe 4-3 Forest Green Rovers:

The final game of the column took place last year with Forest Green facing us at home. Chris Porter opened the scoring on 15 minutes before Reece Brown levelled for the visitors. FGR would take the lead through Junior Mondal with Christian Doidge adding their third shortly after. Joseph Mills would score an own goal before two late Charlie Kirk goals would give the Alex the victory.
