Crewe Alexandra On This Day – April 12th

In this column, we look at how Crewe Alexandra have done on this day in the previous 20 years on April 12th.

2003 – Blackpool 0-1 Crewe:

The first game of this round-up came 17 years ago with a trip to Bloomfield Road to face Blackpool with Kenny Lunt getting the only goal of the game in the 69th minute.

2004 – Crewe 3-1 Coventry City:

A year later saw Coventry make the short journey to the Alexandra Stadium. Michael Higdon opened the scoring just after half-time with Michael Symes doubling the lead on 64 minutes. Onandi Lowe would halve the deficit on 83 minutes with Dean Ashton scoring a penalty in the final minute. Future Alex keeper Scott Shearer would play the full game for the visitors.

2008 – Yeovil Town 0-3 Crewe:

2008 saw a long trip to Huish Park to face Yeovil. Nicky Maynard would give the Alex the lead on 8 minutes before he would double it on 58 minutes with Tom Pope adding the third in the final minute.

2014 – Crewe 0-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers:

The final game of the column took place 6 years ago with Wolves travelling to the Alexandra Stadium. Kevin McDonald would open the scoring just before half-time with David Edwards adding the second midway through the second period.
