Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis will once again look to take advantage of the loan market next season.

“There is no point in overloading in loan signings” – Steve Davis

However, Davis is keen to avoid relying too heavily on borrowed players despite the success of top scorer Chuks Aneke last terms. Instead he intends to fill a couple of key areas.

“There is no point in overloading in loan signings,” Davis warned the Stoke Sentinel. “There won’t be four or five, but one or two to add to the squad until January, depending on what the club wants.

“But if a real quality one becomes available we have to do it,” he added. “There are a couple of important positions that need filling and that’s where we are looking for quality; up front and midfield, maybe, and I wouldn’t rule out another winger.”
