Justin Cochrane has signed a two-year deal with Crewe’s League One rivals Rotherham. The former fans’ favourite fell out of favour at Gresty Road culminating in a loan spell at Gillingham. The 24-year old was subsequently released by Crewe, and has been linked with various clubs since, including Yeovil, Brentford and Luton.

Cochrane joins his former team-mate Colin Murdock at Rotherham, who are amongst the favourites to be relegated from League One this season. Rotherham were the lowest placed team to avoid relegation last season, and following their recent 10 point deduction, the Millers are likely to endure a tough season. However, Rotherham boss Alan Knill has been pro-active in the transfer market this summer, having already signed Delroy Facey, Richie Partridge, Scott Wiseman and former Crewe target Ian Sharps.
