Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says his half-time change at Bradford City was purely tactical.

“That doesn’t mean to say he won’t be involved against Coventry this weekend” – Steve Davis

Davis had originally started with a three-man defensive line but replaced on loan centre-back Alan Tate with forward Febain Brandy at the interval.

The Bantams still ran out 2-0 victors
though, courtesy of a couple of later goals from Aaron McLean and Gary Liddle.

“Taking Alan off was purely tactical,” Davis explained to Crewe’s official website. “We felt we had enough out there to keep them out and we just felt Alan was the right one on this occasion. That doesn’t mean to say he won’t be involved against Coventry this weekend.

“We felt we had to give the lads a chance to get up the pitch and we needed to take our chances when we had them.”
