Bury Reject Crewe’s Bishop Approach

Bury have rejected Crewe’s approach for striker Andy Bishop, saying it’d take ‘a ridiculous offer’ to get him.

Dario approached Bury on Monday about the 24 year old goalscorer but was told that he wasn’t for sale. Yesterday, Steve Holland said the enquiry had hit a brick wall.

Bury’s Director Of Football, Keith Alexander, confirmed the Railwaymen’s enquiry, but said he doesn’t want to lose his best players.

He told BuryTimes.co.uk: ‘Crewe made an enquiry but we have told them he is not for sale,’ he said.

‘Unless they came up with a ridiculous offer, this club does not want to lose our best players.’

Bishop was offered a new contract by the Shaker at the end of last season, although he’s yet to sign it.

We now face a hectic 24 hours to get in a new goal scorer from the lower leagues, with Anthony Elding and Danny Crow amongst others on the shortlist. The transfer window shuts at 12AM on Friday night.
