Junior Brown scored on his loan debut for Kidsgrove Athletic over the weekend but couldn’t stop them falling to a 5-2 defeat at Colwyn Bay.
Brown signed for the Unibond League One South side on a months loan last week and made an instant impact on Saturday. Within 9 minutes he had put Kidsgrove ahead. He then won a penalty 6 minutes later for Michael Lennon to put Athletic 2-0 ahead.
However, that was as good as it got for Kidsgrove. They held the lead for 15 minutes before Colwyn Bay replied with 5 goals.
The 18 year old striker is not the first Alex player to spend time out on loan at Kidsgrove, with Byron Moore having a similar experience last season. Brown will be hoping to have a similar impact in the hope of making the first team after a promising pre-season at Crewe.
Kidsgrove now face Skelmersdale United at home in the Cup on Wednesday. Kick off is at 7:45pm.
