Impossible! No, it’s true. Burton Albion’s John Brayford has signed for a ‘substantial fee’.

Having earlier said that he wasn’t expecting to make any deadline day moves, Holland snapped up with right back with just six hours to spare.

The 20 year old can also fill in at centre back, but whether this means transfer-listed Danny Woodards is heading through the exit door we’ll have to wait and see.

Brayford, a former Man City and Stoke City trainee, eventually made it through Burton’s youth side to make over 70 appearances for Nigel Clough’s men. He played in the Brewers 5-2 weekend win over Lewes and last week scored against Kidderminster in a 2-2 draw.

During his time at Burton Brayford won the Conference Youth League twice as captain and received several call ups for the England non-league side.
