Crewe are said to be interested in Bray Wanderers winger Patrick Kavanagh. The former Birmingham City man has been in fine form since the Eircom season started in March and has recently won the league’s Player of the Season award for April.

The 24 year old is being lined up as a possible ‘goal scoring winger’ that Steve Holland has added to his wish list this summer. With 3 goals to his name from the right wing this season, he could fit the bill.

Dublin born, Kavanagh started his career off in the lower leagues of Ireland before a trial with Birmingham City won him a contract at the Premier League club in January 2007. He was however released after just five months, signing for Bray Wanderers 12 months ago.

The Alex have in the past trialed a Bray player when Eamon Zayed spent a few months at Gresty Road. The striker made the bench but failed to make a first team appearance. He’s now back in the Eircom League and currently has 10 goals for Drogheda United
