Crewe Alexandra have made their first signing of the summer transfer window by completing the signing of on-loan Jordan Bowery from Leyton Orient, signing a 2 year deal starting July 1st.

Bowery, who turns 26 later in the summer, started his career at Chesterfield before moving to then-Premier League club Aston Villa for £500,000 in August 2012 where he failed to score in 22 appearances in all competitions. After permanent spells at Rotherham United and Oxford United, he joined Leyton Orient on a 2 year deal last summer but joined Crewe in January on loan after not impressing for the recently relegated team.

Upon the signing of Bowery, manager David Artell told crewealex.net:
We have been making significant progress with Jordan and his agent and he would be a great signing for us.

“I think he improves us and he is someone we wanted here. It is always try and do one or two early because you can then concentrate on other areas. It means you are not chasing your tail a bit and needing to get four or five in at the end.
