Goalkeeper Bertrand Bossu has signed a two month contract with Crewe after his trial this week whilst Dario tells Anthony Elding he can leave the club.

Bossu arrived on trial earlier in the week, playing in the 5-3 reserve defeat to Birmingham. Whilst the scoreline was far from in Bossu’s favour, the giant keeper (at 6ft 7in) did enough to impress Dario.

The Frenchman will now spend the next two months trying to earn a longer deal at the club, hoping to replace loanee David Button between the sticks when he returns to Spurs in January.

Bossu has previous experience at Aberdeen, Gillingham and Walsall, where he played number two to Clayton Ince between 2006 and 2008. Despite notching up six professional clubs in just six years, Bossu has only made just over 20 first team appearances in that period.

Meanwhile Dario has confirmed that Anthony Elding will be free to leave the club in the transfer window after failing to make an impact in his first year at the club.

Elding arrived from Leeds after Steve Holland’s six month fight to get him to Gresty Road. Signing for a rumoured fee upwards of £100,000 there was a lot of expectation on the striker who had previously scored 24 goals in 37 starts for Stockport County.

Unfortunately it’s never worked out, under Steve Holland he was increasingly overlooked in the team selection before new manager Gudjon Thordarson shipped him out on loan to Lincoln last season.

Despite being given the vice-captain’s role by Gudjon in the summer Elding continued where he left off at Gresty Road; failing to score in all of his 12 appearances this season.

He was left out of today’s defeat at Notts County in favour of Clayton Donaldson, who made his first start since breaking his leg eight weeks ago.

Dario said post-match that Elding may either go out on loan or find a permanent move.
