The former Wrexham marksman sent in Max Clayton for what eventually proved the winner after skipper Luke Murphy earlier opening their account in the 2-1 win at the New Meadow.
“His effort was terrific and I have no qualms about that – he gives everything he has got in every game,” Davis told
Crewe’s official website. “He just needs to add that little bit of quality in the game. He has slipped in to a few of his bad habits which he had from his Wrexham days, but maybe that is because he was out for a while.”
The 22-year-old has only recently returned to action after more than a month out with a knee injury. That followed four goals in his opening four games since arriving from North Wales over the summer.
