Summer signing Eugen Bopp’s 2nd half performance in the 2-0 midweek win against Derby County caught the eye of the Crewe management team.

He joined Crewe earlier in the summer and is now fully recovered from the ankle injury that he sustained whilst playing for his former club Rotherham United last season.

Bopp (pictured) came on as a 2nd half sub and the Ukrainian born midfielder put in an assured performance that impressed Technical Director Dario Gradi.

He told the official website “He looks a lot fitter now and showed what a good player he can be. The flank positions could be up for grabs and he has further enhanced his chances of being involved because we need people to score goals from that position.”

Bopp is likley to feature in the final warm up game against Cheshire rivals Stockport County tomorrow afternoon and he will be looking to impress further in order to guarantee a place in the starting line up against Brighton next Saturday.

Looked a fantastic player on Wednesday, easily the best on the night. I doubt he’s even 100% fit either. Could be a very important player next season, lots of assists, goals and entertainment from him to come I feel.
