A move for Blackburn Rovers’s young defender Johnny Flynn could be on the cards.

The Sentinel reports that Gudjon has been given the heads up about the 19 year old Irish man, with a loan deal possibly in the offing.

Flynn joined Blackburn 18 months ago from Irish club Ballymena after a trial under ex-manager Mark Hughes. He’s gone on to become a regular in the Rovers reserves and has represented Northern Ireland at Under-21 level.

Gudjon has made it well known this summer that he will be making as much use out of the loan system as possible over the next season. Having seen successful loan spells from the likes of John Ruddy, Marlon Broomes, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dennis Lawrence in recent times, it could well be the key to building a successful team.

Another loan deal that is expected is for a goalkeeper. Colin Doyle of Birmingham is already thought to be in the frame.
