The 21-year-old striker has arrived on a two-year deal from Lincoln City having originally begun his career at Sheffield Wednesday. He scored fourteen goals in 41 games for the Imps last season.
“To come back into the League is a huge opportunity. I want to prove that I can handle myself,” Oliver told the Crewe Chronicle. “I like running behind. But I love balls into the box – there’s not many people who are going to beat me in the air. I’m very confident I can make the step-up, and help out the team.”
Manager Steve Davis has already likened his latest recruit to another former non-league striker, Mathias Pogba, who was brought into the club from Wrexham last summer.
“He’s very similar to Mathias,” Davis admitted. “He’s got a similar scoring record and hopefully he’ll make as a good an impact as he has.”
