Assistant manager Neil Baker admits that Chester City have made contact about taking Ryan Lowe on loan, but it’s gone quiet for now.

Lowe was linked to his former club over the weekend by the News Of The World , and with the weeks signings of Kenny Lunt & Gary Roberts the rumour could have more weight to it than originally thought.

The 29 year old midfielder has spent the last two games on the bench and may consider his options as Steve Holland brings in more loans, with former Alex striker Steve Jones set to arrive sooner or later.

Neil Baker, Alex assistant manager, says that the club will try to discourage bids but admits that Ryan Lowe may decide to take the move.

Baker told The Sentinel: “We`ve not heard back from Chester. Whenever clubs have come in for him we have put them off, but it is down to Ryan and how he sees himself, particularly as we have brought in two midfielders in the last week.’

Hereford United have also been linked with a move for Lowe.
