It was announced on the official site this afternoon that Paris-born Ivorian youth international Zoumana Bakayago has signed a 12 month extension to his contract due to making 35 appearances for the club this season.

The left back, who previously played for Leicester and Yeovil amongst other clubs, is contracted to the Alex until the summer of 2018 has been in and out of the starting 11 until manager David Artell but is currently in the team due to fellow defender Jon Guthrie‘s hernia injury.

Bakayago has made 57 appearances for the club since his debut against Swindon Town in January 2016, scoring once against Chesterfield in a 3-1 defeat a month later.
