Lachlan Brook Becomes Sixth Signing Of The Summer

|

Crewe Alexandra have announced that Australian winger Lachlan Brook has joined the club on loan from Premier League Brentford until January.

Brook, 21, came through the youth system at Adelaide United before joining Brentford’s B-Team set-up in the summer of 2020, spending the second half of the last English season on loan at Adelaide.

He’s been capped for the Socceroos at the Under-17, Under-20 and Under-23 levels.

What does Brook offer to the club?

Last Saturday’s “Trialist A” for the West Bromwich Albion home game is a natural wide man who plays as an inverted winger, being left-footed but playing on the right. Currently, he’s the only natural wide option that we have in the squad – Dan Agyei and Chris Long are likely to be the other players that play wide in Alex Morris’ 4-2-3-1 system but are naturally centre-forwards – so it’ll be interesting to see whether we are in for another wide option or are content with these 3 players with Callum Ainley and potentially one of the young lads like Joel Tabiner playing there at points in the season.
