Crewe Alexandra winger Byron Moore has been told to ignore possible interest from the Scottish Premier League and continue his progress at Gresty Road.

The 23-year-old is considering his options after being offered a new two-year contract following ten goals for Alex last season – including one in their play-off final victory last month.

Should he decide on a move elsewhere in England, his club would be entitled to compensation as he is under the age of 24. But a switch across the border would see him leaving for absolutely nothing under the Bosman ruling.

“We’ve had talks with Byron’s agent and we feel we’ve made him a very good offer,” manager Steve Davis confirmed to This is Staffordshire. “It’s our final offer and now it’s down to Byron. He’s just had his best season with us since I have been here, and if he stays in the group he will continue to improve his game.

“If he moves to another club in this country we will get compensation, but we won’t if he goes to Scotland,’ he warned. “We are here to offer advice and I think he should stay with us for 12 months more.”
