Alex Under-23s Score 4 Against Bolton Wanderers

|

Goals from Lewis Reilly, Travis Johnson, Rio Adebisi and Chuma Anene were enough for Crewe Alexandra Under-23 to defeat their Bolton Wanderers counterparts in the Under-23 Professional Development League at the University of Bolton Stadium last night with former Alex captain Luke Murphy wearing the armband for the hosts.

Manager Alex Morris named Sam Booth in goal with a back 4 of Johnson, Josh Lundstram, Luke Offord and AdebisiĀ in front of him. In midfield, Regan Griffiths and captain Ollie Finney played centrally with Owen Dale and Callum Ainley on the wings while Reilly was partnered by Anene up front. On the bench for the Alex were goalkeeper Danny Lloyd, Joe Robbins, Aaron Lomas and Nathan Woodthorpe.

The opening goal of the game came in the 23rd minute with Reilly heading home a cross before they doubled the lead 4 minutes later with Johnson’s cross evading everyone on its way into the bottom corner of the goal. Adebisi would add the third 5 minutes after the break before Connor Hall would reduce the deficit minutes later from close range with Anene scoring on the hour-mark.

The next couple of games for Morris’ men sees a game against Sheffield United a week on Wednesday before Nottingham Forest on Monday 28th, both at Reaseheath.
