Alex Under-23s Go Into Xmas Break With Draw Against Tigers

|

Tyreece Onyeka’s goal 20 minutes from time saw Crewe Alexandra go into the Xmas break with a home draw against Hull City in the Under-23 Professional Development League at Reaseheath this afternoon.

Manager Alex Morris was named Sam Booth in goal as captain with a back 4 of Adbul Djalo, Travis Johnson, Billy Sass-Davies and Nathan Woodthorpe in front of him. In central midfield were Luke Offord and Jamie Wrench with Aaron Lomas and Rio Adebisi played wide while Regan Griffiths playing behind Onyeka up front. On the bench were goalkeeper Andy Walklate, Fenton Green, Joe Levey, Ethan Hartshorn and Joe Robbins.

After a first half that saw few goalmouth chances, the Alex hit the post 7 minutes after the break with Adebisi curling an effort after cutting inside before the Alex would take the lead with 20 minutes to play as Lomas set up Onyeka to fire into the bottom corner. The lead would only last for 4 minutes though as substitute Billy Chadwick would level with a volley.

The next couple of games are in the New Year when we travel to Sheffield Wednesday on Monday 6th January before hosting Leeds United at Reaseheath the following Monday.
