Alex to Sharpen Up?

Crewe are reported to be interested in Tranmere centre-back Ian Sharps. Sharps, who is out-of-contract this summer, looks set to move on with Swansea and Cardiff also showing an interest in the 25-year old. In the words of Brian Little – Tranmere boss, Sharps is ‘very strong and very commanding in lots of situations’. Sharps has scored twice for Tranmere this season, and had a hand in setting up one goal, though Tranmere’s disappointing position of 16th may have caused him to want to move on. However, Tranmere pay higher wages than Crewe casting doubt over whether Sharps would move to the South Cheshire club, perhaps making Cardiff and Swansea favourites to land the 6’3 defender.
