Defenders Mark Ellis and Gregor Robertson, midfielder Abdul Osman and forwards Michael West and Mathias Pogba have all come into Gresty Road.

“We are looking over the friendlies coming up for the team to start taking shape to a certain degree,” Davis told This is Staffordshire. “We are at that stage now where all the players have a couple of games under their belts and we can think about a starting line-up.”

Alex have pre-season games against Bolton Wanderers, Huddersfield Town and Barnsley coming up after taking on Wiltshire League Premier Division side Pewsey Vale this evening (kick-off 7.45pm).
