Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis is considering changes for a second meeting in just four days with Coventry City.

“I may look to freshen things up for this weekend” – Steve Davis

Having finally accounted for the Sky Blues over two-legs in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in midweeek, and in the process securing a forthcoming Wembley final date with Southend United, the Alex are travelling for a league fixture to the Ricoh Arena this weekend.

Davis’ side were already victorious there by a 3-0 scoreline just over a fortnight ago after also narrowly winning their earlier home league meeting between the clubs at the start of September.

The likes of defender Harry Davis, wingers Byron Moore and Ryan Colclough, and striker Max Clayton were set to be considered this time around, while full-back Matt Tootle was more likely to be involved against Hartlepool United in midweek.

“I may look to freshen things up for this weekend,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “We have players available and we can change the system if needs be.”

Coventry are awaiting the results of a scan on injured defender Richard Wood (groin) but Franck Moussa (hip) could return.
