The Alex head north to Carlisle United for the first away game of the season.
The Cumbrian’s are fresh from 2 wins since the start of the season, beating Bristol Rovers on the opening day of the season and Shrewsbury Town in the Carling Cup first round, both away from home. With Crewe playing well against Championship Barnsley fans will be hoping to take 3 points away from Brunton Park.
Just to add a little spice to the fixture, Carlisle have former Crewe keeper Ben Williams in goal, a player much criticised by supporters and a player with weaknesses known by the Alex management.
Steve Holland spoke to the Official Site “Calvin has made progress and we expect him to train today. If he doesn’t suffer any set-backs then he would be under consideration for selection. He has only missed the last few days of training and with the fitness work he did over the summer, I’m not that concerned with that. He has enough overall fitness from the work we have done over the pre-season.”
“We have no fresh injury worries from Tuesday night which is good. Bopp is making progress from his groin strain but will be out for a bit yet. We are in decent shape and will go to Carlisle looking to get our first league points of the season.”
Carlisle United Team News:
Carlisle will have a relatively clean bill of health for the clash with only Lumsdon set to miss out with a back injury he picked up against Partick Thistle.
Bridges could also be in line for his first start during this spell at Carlisle. The former Alex target could cause a few problems for Collis if its his day.
Former player Ben Williams should be in goal for the Cumbrians

Crewe Alexandra Team News:
Crewe have no new injury concerns following the Carling Cup. Zola is expected to return to fitness and should be available for selection. Bopp is still out however with a strain he picked up against Brighton.
Most supporters will be hoping that Holland names the same side that booted Barnsley out of the cup, as side which looked much better than the one that lost to Brighton.

The most common score’s are split down the middle in the Vital Crewe prediction league, so it will be a draw! 2-2!
