Crewe Alexandra are travelling to Bradford City this weekend looking for their first win in five games.

“I’m getting a bit of criticism at the moment, which I expect” – Steve Davis

Successive 3-0 home defeats to Notts County and Colchester United have further increased the pressure on manager Steve Davis with his side currently stuck right at the bottom of the table.

Defender Adam Dugdale should be recalled for the sidelined George Ray [groin] while on loan striker Febian Brandy was expected to recover from his calf problem.

Otherwise midfielder Ryan Colclough [hernia] and centre-back Harry Davis [knee] still remain out.

“I’m getting a bit of criticism at the moment, which I expect, and I have to fight through it,” Davis admitted to BBC Radio Stoke. “I’ve had messages of support and I’ll keep going until somebody says otherwise.

“The team needs some rebuilding. I need to get some out and get some in, and I’m prepared to do that if it’s what it takes,” he warned. “If the players aren’t up to it and won’t run about then I’ll change it.”

Centre-back Andrew Davies [broken arm] is back in contention for the hosts and fellow defender Alan Sheehan is similarly pushing for a recall.
