Nick Powell and Max Clayton both netted their first England goals on Thursday in the Montaigu Tournament.
The two 16 year olds scored one each for the England U-16s against their Gabon counterparts on Thursday evening.
Both Powell and Clayton played the full game at the Stade Hermitage in France as England romped to a 6-0 victory. Powell netted England’s fourth on 30 minutes with Clayton converting a penalty on the 45th minute.
England’s hopefuls earlier beat Ukraine 3-1 on Wednesday night with both Powell and Clayton seeing action. It now means England will progress to the Montaigu Tournament final with a win against Japan later today.
The two youngsters have been tipped to make the first team at Gresty Road within the next 12 months having recently signed long term deals with the club, eventually snubbing interest from the likes of Liverpool.
