Kashket & Robertson Sign

|

Crewe Alexandra have announced that forward Scott Kashket and midfielder Scott Robertson have joined the club this evening, becoming the eighth and ninth signings of this summer transfer window. Kashket has signed a 12-month deal after his contract with Wycombe Wanderers was mutually terminated earlier today while Robertson joins on a season-long loan from Celtic.

Kashket, 25, started his career at Leyton Orient with a loan spell at Welling United before joining the Chairboys in the summer of 2016. He made 129 appearances for Wycombe, including 29 in their Championship campaign last season.

Robertson, 20, has come through the Celtic youth system, making his debut as an 18-year-old in the UEFA Europa League group-stage before spending time on loan at Gillingham and Doncaster Rovers last season, making 15 league appearances for both clubs in League 1.

What are the Alex getting from the signings?

Kashket’s a left-footed forward who can play both out wide and centrally while Robertson is a left-footed defensive midfielder. Both will provide good competition for the team, Kashket will provide competition for Ben Knight and Owen Dale in wide areas while hopefully Robertson is a mobile player in the Ryan Wintle mould to sit at the base of the midfield.
