Crewe Alexandra won’t hesitate to hand a full league debut to youngster Ollie Turton this weekend should the need arise.

“It may be that he gets another chance this weekend and it is up to him to take it” – Steve Davis

The nineteen-year-old is currently on standby for the visit of Yeovil Town as midfielder pair Abdul Osman (ankle) and Andy Bond (groin) are both struggling to recover in time.

Turton replaced Osman at half-time of the midweek 2-1 victory against Swindon Town at Gresty Road and manager Steve Davis could well turn to him again this weekend.

“He played a lot better than he has done when coming on previously and that shows the progress he has made,” he told the Alex’s official website. “It may be that he gets another chance this weekend and it is up to him to take it.”
