The draw has been made for the FA Youth Cup Round 1 at Wembley Stadium this afternoon with Lee Bell’s Under-18 team being drawn away at Morecambe.
The game will be played at the Globe Arena but other details for the game will be made available in due course but the game has to be played before Saturday 3rd November unless already agreed with the Football Association.
Bell’s side got to the third round stage last season where they lost to fellow League 2 club Colchester United after defeating non-league clubs Handsworth Parramore and Evesham United in the first 2 rounds of the competition whilst the furthest the Alex have got in the history of the competition was during the 2014/15 season where we got to the quarter-final stage and lost 6-1 to Manchester City (Tom Lowery scoring the opening goal of the game to give the Alex the lead in a team that also contained Callum Ainley and Ollie Finney as starters and Charlie Kirk and Harry Pickering as substitutes).
