Alex Cut Down To Size By Blades In Under-23 Action

A hat-trick from Iliman Ndiaye gave Sheffield United a victory in their home game against Crewe Alexandra in the Under-23s Professional Development League with George Broadbent also getting on the scoresheet.

Manager Alex Morris named Dave Richards in goal with a defence of Travis Johnson, Michael Williams, Connor O’Riordan and Rio Adebisi. In front of them were midfielders Regan Griffiths, Nathan Woodthorpe and Joel Tabinor with Joe Robbins and Offrande Zanzala up front.

The opening goal of the game came in the 27th minute as Ndiaye fired into the top corner before the second came 4 minutes after the break with midfielder Broadbent scoring into the bottom corner past Richards. The two scorers would combine for the third with Ndiaye turning in a cross from Broadbent on 55 minutes before he would complete his hat-trick on the hour-mark with another finish into the bottom corner.

The next scheduled games at this level sees a trip to Sheffield Wednesday (Tues 15th) before a home game against Nottingham Forest at Reaseheath the following Monday, both games kicking off at 1:00 pm.
