Alex Admired as Dario Misses Out

Crewe Alexandra last night won the Football League’s ‘Most Admired Club Award’. The South Cheshire outfit beat off competition from Brighton, Ipswich, Norwich, Reading and Southend to land the award. The award comes after a dismal 15 months on the pitch which has seen just six wins since the sale of Dean Ashton. However, Dario Gradi surprisingly missed out on the ‘Contribution to Football Award’ which instead went to Huddersfield’s Academy Director Gerry Murphy, who also beat off competition from Bradford’s David Wetherall.

Community Club of the Year – Brentford

Fan of the Year – Jeff Hall (Chesterfield)

Best Club Sponsorship – Norwich City
