Second-half goals from Callum Ainley and Regan Griffiths saw Crewe Alexandra come from behind twice against Sheffield Wednesday at the Weaver Stadium this afternoon after Liam Waldock had given the visitors the lead both times.

Manager Alex Morris named Sam Booth in goal with a back 4 of Travis Johnson, O’Riordan, Fenton Green and Michael Williams. In midfield were Joe Robbins, Charlie Finney and Griffiths while Ainley and Joel Tabinor started either side of Tyreece Onyeka up front. On the bench were goalkeeper Tom Booth, Kyle Stubbs, Lewis Billington and Joe Levey.

The opening goal came on 26 minutes with Wednesday pressing forcing a mistake and Waldock pouncing on the ball to finish from 12 yards out with the equaliser coming 9 minutes after the break through Ainley’s effort. Waldock got his second on the hour-mark before Griffiths leveled the score 6 minutes later from the penalty spot.
