The football league have revealed that Crewe are one of three League One clubs to not have paid agents in 2007. The report for July-December 2007 also show that Football League clubs paid £7.9million to agents.

The other League One clubs to not pay agents were Hartlepool and Huddersfield, whilst only Blackpool of the Championship didn’t pay agents. Meanwhile, 15 clubs in League Two didn’t pay agents, including the likes of Grimsby, Stockport and Chester.

Predictably, Leeds United were League One’s biggest spenders on agent fees. They committed £173,000 to agents over 36 transactions, whilst in the Championship Leicester City paid over £1million in agent fees. MK Dons were League Two’s biggest spenders, committing over £76,000.
