In this column, we look at how the Alex Academy Graduates have done across Bank Holiday Monday in the National League and the last 2 nights in the Carabao Cup.

Carabao Cup:

Starting with Tuesday’s action, Ritchie Sutton played the full game for Morecambe in their 4-0 defeat at Burton Albion. Shaun Miller (20 mins) and AJ Leitch-Smith (13 mins) were used substitutes, both for the visitors.

Perry Ng, Rio Adebisi, Tom Lowery (68 mins), Ryan Wintle, Callum Ainley, Owen Dale and Charlie Kirk (66 mins) all started for Crewe Alexandra in their 6-1 home defeat against Aston Villa. Ollie Finney (24 mins) and James Jones (22 mins) were both used substitutes for the hosts.

Nick Powell was not involved for Stoke City in their 5-4 penalty win at Leeds United.

Neither Byron Moore nor Antoni Sarcevic were involved for Plymouth Argyle in their 4-2 home defeat against Reading.

Junior Brown was not involved for Coventry City in their 3-0 defeat at Watford.

Onto last night’s action, where Michael O’Connor played the full game for Lincoln City in their 4-2 home defeat against Everton.

Billy Jones was not involved for Rotherham United in their 1-0 home defeat against Sheffield Wednesday.

Gareth Evans played the first 60 minutes for Portsmouth in their 2-0 win at Queens Park Rangers.

National League:

Liam Nolan played the full game and scored for Halifax Town in their 2-1 win at Barrow while Will Appleyard was an unused sub for the visitors.

Mark Carrington played the full game for Wrexham in their 4-2 defeat at Hartlepool United while Jason Oswell was not involved for the visitors.

Chris Holroyd came on for the final 14 minutes for Chorley in their 5-1 defeat at Notts County while Matt Tootle was not involved for the hosts.
